AGENDA ITEM: Adopt Ordinance No. 20-00-45 amending the budget to fund Bull
Memorial Park Improvements previously approved December 14,
1999.

BACKGROUND: At the August 9, 1999 City Commission meeting, the City
Commission authorized staff to revise and re-bid the Bull
Memorial Park specifications. The sum total of the bids received
and awarded was $277,807.16. The original budget was $234,000,
thus requiring a need to fund the shortfall of $43,808. This
resulted in the City Commission approving a staff recommendation
to re-appropriate the funds originally budgeted for Town Center to
be spent on Bull Memorial Park. The attached ordinance
accomplishes the transfer of funds from the Convention
Development Tax Fund to the Governmental Capital Project Fund.
BUDGET: The revised budget will be $277,808 in the Governmental Capital
Project Fund.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1999/2000 BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1999 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2000.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Atlantic Beach requires that the City Commission
approve all budgetary increases and transfers at the fund level, and
WHEREAS, the nature of budgetary systems and those day to day decisions affecting such
budgetary systems require adjustments from time to time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, that;
1. The Fiscal Year 1999/2000 Final Budget be amended as follows:

Description:
The above changes will remove the budgeted contribution to the Town Center Agency
and move a portion of those funds to the Governmental Capital Project Fund. This transfer was
the approved recommendation at the December 14, 1999 City Commission meeting to fund the
portion of Bull Park Improvements in excess of the original budget. The total project budget for
fiscal year 2000 is now $277,808.
2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
