CULTURAL ARTS and RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Regular Meeting

Visitors: Commissioner Anderson, Amanda Askew, Kirt Lynch
1. Call to order - Chair, Eastman Curtis called the meeting to order - 6:00 pm
2. Minutes from September 30, 2019 - approved as written, motion made by Carol,
seconded by Laurie. All in favor.
3. Recognition of Visitors - Eastman Curtis welcomed the visitors.
Commission Anderson requested that the committee consider using
Veterans' Park for an event in the coming year.
4. Old Business
a. Contribution
Timmy reported that he assigned each committee member an organization
to oversee and report back to the committee. The list will be emailed to
the committee members this week.
a. Artisans' Faire
Paula report that there was a write-up in the Beaches Leader concerning
the event. She also went over the plans for the event and each committee
member assignment.
5. New Business
a. Recommendation on Mayport Road Mural Project
City Planner, Amanda Askew presented the 1400 Mayport Road Mural
Project to the committee. She also explained the program and mentioned
that the request is for $6,975 with a completion time of 40 days. The
committee requested to see a photo prior to the mural, a final drawing and
include a maintenance plan in the budget.
The committee requested an updated drawing and this item was tabled
until the next meeting.
b. Meeting dates for 2020
Timmy went over the meeting dates for 2020 and mentioned he would

email the dates out as well.
c. Arts in the Park
Timmy informed the committee that we have received 40 applications.
The event is scheduled for April 18. Paula mentioned having a committee
member chair each event. Doing so will assist the Recreation Department.
