ORDINANCE NO. 65-00-25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, CLOSING
PORTIONS OF WEST FIRST STREET AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE .
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority {JTA) has prepared plans
for construction of the Mayport Flyover Project which includes the closing of the west
entrance to First Street at its intersection with Mayport Road and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission of the City of Atlanric Beach believe
that maintaining an entrance on to West First Street from Mayport Road after the
completion of this project would impose a significant traffic safety hazard and support the
JTA plans for closing West First Street at MaXport Road.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida that:
SECTION 1. The City does hereby close West First Street at its intersection with
Mayport Road.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon fznal passage
and adoption.
PASSED by the City Commission on fast reading this day of January
2000.
PASSED by the City Commission on second and final reading this day of
February 2000,,
