BACKGROUND: Request for a use-by-exception to allow on premises consumption of alcoholic beverages including beer, wine and liquor by Javier U Perez on behalf of Cantina Maya Sports
Bar & Grille, located at 1021 Atlantic Boulevard within a Commercial General (CG) zoning district.
The Community Development Board considered this request along with comments from staff, the applicant, and community residents in attendance at the June 18th meeting, and the Board unanimously
recommended approval, finding the request is consistent with Section 24-111(c)(3) and Chapter 3 of the Municipal Code, and in accordance with the requirements for a 4-COP SRX alcoholic
beverage license, as issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Alcohol and Tobacco. Further, this use is a continuation of that of the former
tenant (Mimi’s Sports Grill), and thus is found to be compatible with surrounding properties.
BUDGET: None.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval, recommended by the Community Development Board.
