Partially in right-of-way 12 feet tall 3 Need for a Waiver Section 17-42(13)- The following signs and devices shall be prohibited within the City of Atlantic Beach: (13) Private signs on any public property, other than as specifically approved by the City Commission Section 17-29(c)(1)- Freestanding Signs- Size Permitted: 1 square foot of sign display area for each linear foot of frontages of the development parcel on which the sign is placed, provided no such sign shall exceed 96 square feet of sign display area, or 8 feet in height and 12 feet in width. 4 Analysis and Concerns Nonconforming signs shall be made conforming with all provisions of this chapter when any of the following changes are made: a. Any change to the structural supports or structural materials d. Any change which alters the material used for the display area or face area by more than 25% g. Any change necessary for compliance with Florida Building Code requirements Sightlines east on Atlantic Boulevard. 5 Recommended Conditions If approved- that landscaping be installed around the base of the sign in the areas not used for parking. 6 Action to be Taken Get Commission consensus to move item WAIV17-0001 forward to a Public Hearing on June 12, 2017. 7
