A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF FEDERAL HAZARD MITIGATION
GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATIONS UNDER FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY VIA THE PRESIDENTIAL DISASTER DECLARATION
FOR HURRICANE MICHAEL (FEMA 4399 -DR -FL); AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION AND ASSURANCES AND
AGREEMENTS FOR ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO SUCH FEDERAL
ASSISTANCE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach applies for grants of various types; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach may delegate the authority to
sign grant applications; and
WHEREAS, when the City is selected for funding, the City must execute a grant agreement,
and only then are grant requirements binding; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Emergency Management is administering a Federal Hazard
Mitigation Grant Program under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which provides
federal grants for cost-effective hazard mitigation projects, via the Presidential Disaster Declaration for
Hurricane Michael (FEMA 4399 -DR -FL); and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach is eligible for apply for federal grants under the Hazard
Mitigation Grant Program and, if awarded, receive grant funding from FEMA for one or more of the
following projects: Forrestal Circle sewer lining, Sherman Creek dredging, Stanley Road drainage
improvements, Cutlass Drive box culvert replacement, and Mary Street drainage improvements; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
authorizes:
Section 1. The submittal of a Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Program application under the
Presidential Disaster Declaration for Hurricane Michael (FEMA 4399 -DR -FL); and
Section 2. The City Manager to execute the application and assurances and agreements for all
matters pertaining to such federal assistance for and on behalf of the City of Atlantic Beach
