Kosoy, Director of Public Works DATE: March 14, 2000 BACKGROUND: First Vehicle Services is requesting an increase to the contract for their fiscal year (11-15-99 thru 11-14-00) due to rising costs. Currently the contract price is $174,721, which was reduced last year for the four months when the fire vehicles were removed from the contract. The contract amount, less the fire vehicles for one full year, is $172,844. This amount is proposed to be increased to $175,873, an increase of $3,029. Section 3.10 (a) of the contract, Annual Adjustments, was revised, as approved by the City Commission on 4/12/99 to read: `Annual Adjustments fo the approved budget for the contract year will be according to a) Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair CPI for LABOR AND OTHER EXPENSES; b) Motor Vehicle Parts and Equipment CPI for PARTS; c) Overall General CPI forADMlNISTRATIVE EXPENSE AND MANAGEMENT FEE." RECOMMENDATION: Approve an increase in First Vehicle Services' Contract.
