Exh 3A... ~ _ ~~4 a., . Apri124, 2000 MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission FROM: aim Hans a~nager "~- SUBJECT: Follow-up it ms The following are responses to questions and requests for additional information that were made in recent City Commission meetings. Post Office In December of 1999 I met with representatives of the U. S. Post Office to discuss the possible creation of a public access from Plaza Drive. Post Office representatives agreed to get an engineer/architect to prepare a concept drawing which would give further information about cost that maybe incurred in making this change. Post Office representatives have indicated that they would be ready to meet back with me in the middle of May. I will report to the City Commission after that meeting. Possible Sewer Extensions into the west side of Marsh Oaks ; Estimates for the cost for the City to extend sewer service into the western most portions of Marsh Oaks will be included in the Sewer Master Pian which is presently under way. 1Vlarsh Oaks A,parhnents;, At the Last City Commission meeting, the Commission voted to rename "Section H" to "Marsh Oaks." A "Marsh Oaks Apartments" exists on AIA near the Oak Harbor Subdivision. Some confusion may exist in the future over the two similar names. Because the suggestions far the Marsh Oaks name were received just before the meeting, Staff did not immediately recognize the potential for confixsion. This report is not to recommend that the Commission change the name but simply to point out that there is a potential for confusion in the future. ~" ~. ~,,. , . ~a ~^ City Manager Follow-up Report April 24, 2000 Page 2 JTA Flvoverr Documents are being prepared both by the City and the TTA to accomplish the exchange of property needed to formalize all of the agreements made to date. The City of Atlantic Beach will need to adopt Ordinances abandoning sections of (unopened} Begonia Street and a portion of W. First Street and deed some other property fronting on Atlantic Boulevard and adjacent to the Begonia Streetright-of-way. We anticipate these ordinances being presented for Commission consideraxion in May. At the same time, the TTA is drafting their agreement to deed property at the Atlantic Boulevard/Mayport Road intersection to the City, to make Landscaping improvements and other items. The Atlantic Beach Commission should have the JTA's agreement in hand prior to the adoption and execution of our documents. ~;
