Dancin' in the Stree#: Planners of the "Dancin' in the Streef' festival have tentatively
scheduled a date in May for the event this year. A meeting has been scheduled with the
event organizer and more details will be available by the time of the Commission
meeting. A verbal report will be made at that time and any input from the Comnssion
will be welcomed.
City Hall PhoneBuilding Changes Anticipated: Staff is in the initial stages of planning
for some minor modifications in City Hall. Several changes are planned in office
assignments and improvements to the telephone system, which will result in two
improvements. The first is in service to the public. As described in the 3anuary 20001ist
of observations presented to the Commission, new phone equipment would enable better
use of existing personnel to serve the public which will in turn cut down on the number
of calls going to an answering machine. Secondly, minor modification to the main foyer
area will allow better coverage of lunch and breaks by full time employees and allow for
a substantial reduction in the use of part-time personnel, which will save the City money.
The azchitect who originally designed City Hall, Peter Rumpel, will prepare the drawings
needed at a cost of under $2,000.
