AGENDA ITEM: Hydrostop Roofing System to the Public Works Building

BACKGROUND: The Hydrostop Roofing System was rebid as the original bids
came in at $58,900.00 and $52,928.00. Bid Number 9900-10
~' rebid for applying Hydrostop Roofing System to the Public
Works Building was opened on April 26, 2000. We only had
two bidders submit bids. The two that we received were from
McCurdy-Walden, Inc. and Commercial Sheet Metal Systems.
Bidders came in with prices of $59,490.00 and $47,587.00,
respectively. By going out to rebid we saved $5,341.00.
BUDGET: We only budgeted $40,000.00 for this item in account 001-
5002-541.46-00 Repairs and Maintenance. The Streets and
Maintenance Division has $44,000.00 left in this account and
has monies left over from the purchase of the riding (awn
mower that could make up the difference.
RECOMMENDATION: Award bid to Commercial Sheet Metal Systems in the amount
of $47,587.00
