SUBJECT: Parking Apron
Dear Mr. McAfee:
It was recently brought to my attention that you have replaced the driveway on your property
at 824 Sherry Drive. As part of this installation, a parking apron was added along Sherry Drive.
Review of your building permit file does not show authorization for this work in the City
Right-of-Way. Installation of parking aprons on City through streets (including Sherry Drive)
is prohibited by Section 19-7(d) of the City Code. In addition, installation of pavers within
City Right-of-Way requires a"Revocable Encroachment Permit." This permit makes the owner
responsible for repairs to the non-standard driveway, if damage is because of City Utility work.
Your options with respect to this parking apron are to 1) remove the paved area not a part of
the driveway, or 2) to submit a Waiver Request to the City Commission. Should you choose to
request a Waiver, please contact Sonya Doerr, the Community Development Director, at
247-5817 for assistance with this process.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 247-5834 or by e-mail
at rcarper@coab.us. A copy of the form for a Revocable Encroachment Permit may be obtained
from Public Works or requested by e-mail.
Since ely,
