BACKGROUND: Staff sent out Invitations to Bid for thermoplastic striping and
pavement markers to be placed on the new asphalt on Seminole
Road, from the 5-way intersection north to Hanna Park for the
Public Works Department. Bids were opened at 3:00 PM on May
24, 2000 with only one bidder submitting a bid. AmeriSeal
Northeast Florida, Inc. was the bidder with a total price of
$13,796.50. Staff had obtained a price quote from Rose Services,
Inc. prior to bidding and they did not bid because they felt their
quote of $16,942.00 would suffice.
BUDGET: This work will be funded from account number
130-5002-541-6300 in the Local Option Gas Tax Fund.
RECOMMENDATION: Award to AmeriSeal Northeast Florida, Inc. as they were the only
bidder and their price is comparable to previous prices obtained.

lane, white stripes on the edge ofasphal4 cross walks, stop bars, and reflective pavcmcnt
markers will be installed in accordance with the current Manual on Uniform TralFe Control
Devices. The City of Atlantic Beach reserves the right to award part ol'ihis bid or all of this
bid to one contractor. Work to bo performed 34 days after the milIin~ and paving is completed
and cured.
