A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO CONDUCT A TRAFFIC STUDY ON ATLANTIC BOULEVARD
AT THE ENTRANCE TO SUMMER SANDS COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach is aware of traffic problems that ezist at the
intersection of Brant Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard at the entrance of the Summer
Sands Community; and
WHEREAS, because of the present traffic flow, the residents of Summer Sands have
to endure long waits before they are able to exit or enter their neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the residential, commercial and business growth within the City of
Jacksonville and the Beaches will place an even larger traffic burden upon this intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The City of Atlantic Beach requests the Florida Department of Transportation to
conduct a traffic study of the intersection of Brant Boulevard and Atlantic
Boulevard at the entrance of the Summer Sands Community to determine the
feasibility of installing a traffic light at this location.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this
day of June, 2000.
