AGENDA ITEM: Uniform Rental/Cleaning for Public Works Employees

BACKGROUND: Per the Northeast Florida Public Employees' Local 630 agreement
with the City, we are required to furnish and clean uniforms for all
bargaining unit employees.
The. City's current contract is with RUS. Uniforms of Gainesville,
which was awarded. on 7uly 27, 1.998, and expires on July 31,
2000. We have contacted Mr. Chris Hodges, General Manager for
RUS uniforms and he has agreed to extend the contract for another
year at the current prices. The City has the option of extending the
current contract for two one-year periods. This will be extension
number two.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one year at the current cost which is
estimated at $9,400.
BUDGET: This is budgeted in the 3400 accounts of several departments, i.e.
Streets & Maintenance, AB Water/Sewer, Buccaneer .
Water/Sewer, Parks and Recreation.

July 31, 2000. We would like to extend the contract for another year at the current prices, if this
is acceptable to your company. If acceptable, please sign below and return to me before June 28,
2000, so I can prepare a staff report for the City Commission to accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue our contract with your company.
