BA~'KGROUND: Effective 10/Oi/00, the health insurance premiums for the City's
EPt3 plan will increase by SO% with the premiums far the FPO plan
increased by 17%. These increases make it di#ficult for City
employees to afford dependent insurance with the annual cost to
the employee with dependent EPO health insurance increasing as
follows:

REOUE5TED ACTION In addition to the Employee Only cost currently paid by the City,
that the City pay the following month{y October i, 2000 dependent
health insurance increases for employees that elect dependent
insurance coverage:

FUNDING' It is estimated that this action will cost $ 33,000 which will be
allocated to the departments affected.
