A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA
APPROVING THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE/DUVAL COUNTY
COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN (CEMP),
WITH CERTAIN CHANGES AND REVISIONS, DATED DECEMBER 1,
2017, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville/Duval County CEMP has been updated and revised to
meet Federal and State requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville/Duval County CEMP includes the municipalities of
Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and the Town of Baldwin; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach participates in the development, maintenance, and
operation of the Jacksonville/Duval County CEMP; and
WHEREAS, the updates and revisions to the City of Jacksonville/Duval County CEMP
satisfy requirements to ensure compliance with the National Incident Management System and
clarifies the organizational structure to better reflect the role of the Beaches Communities during an
incident.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Findings. The foregoing recitals are true and correct.
SECTION 2. The City Commission approves the City of Jacksonville/Duval County
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), with updates and revisions, dated
December 1, 2017.
SECTION 6. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final
passage and adoption.
