A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE ENGINEERING EVALUATION OF WATER
TREATMENT PLANT NO. 1.
WHEREAS, on May 15, 2020 staff received a proposal from J. Collins Engineering
Associates, LLC, in the amount of $41,459.00 to provide professional engineering services for the
evaluation of Water Treatment Plant No. 1; and
WHEREAS, this study is intended to provide the City with results of the elevated storage
tank with respect to the costs of rehabilitation versus removal, results of evaluation of the mechanical
and electrical components of Water Treatment Plant No. 1 an recommendations for modernization,
and an opinion of probable costs for rehabilitation versus upgrading; and
WHEREAS, the tasks included in the proposal include Engineering Evaluation and Cost
Estimating; and
WHEREAS, the City has a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with J. Collins
Engineering Associates, LLC, and this scope of work would be Task Authorization No. 1 under said
agreement; and
WHEREAS, funds for this design are budgeted in the infrastructure account 400-5502-533-
63-00 under project number PU2020.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute Task
Authorization No. 1 with J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC, in the amount of $41,459.00 for the
Evaluation of Water Treatment Plant No. 1 as described in J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC,
proposal dated May 15, 2020, and;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
Purchase Order to J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC, in the amount of $41,459.00 for said Task
Authorization No. 1.
