1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Commissioner Norris called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.
2. INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
COMMITTEE (ESC)
The Committee interviewed the following candidates separately. Each candidate explained
their personal accomplishments, experiences, goals, and interests in the community. The
Committee offered the opportunity to ask questions and the Committee responded to those
questions.

C. Richard Schooling
D. Romy Vann
E. Barbie Brooksher
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments submitted or expressed.
4. DISCUSS CANDIDATES AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS
A. Discuss applicants and make recommendations for appointments to the
Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC).
The Committee discussed the candidates and the membership requirements of the two
vacancies - one At -Large and one District 1308 member. The Committee expressed
interest in placing remaining candidates on a City board/committee including the
Community Development Board and Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory
Committee.

MOTION:: Recommend appointing Romy Vann to the Environmental Stewardship
Committee as an At -Large member to fill an unexpired term beginning immediately and
ending December 31, 2021.

MOTION: Recommend appointing Deborah Andrews to the Environmental Stewardship
Committee as a District 1308 member to fill an unexpired term beginning immediately and
ending December 31, 2020.

Motion passed 5 to 0.
Commissioner Norris spoke about her desire to reach out to the remaining candidates to find a
way to keep them plugged in. The Committee discussed placing Ms. Montgomery in a
position on the Environmental Stewardship Committee as a non-voting member or
marketing/outreach liaison. City Clerk Bartle suggested, as a way to show commitment,
making a motion to have her "on -deck" for the next available vacancy occurring within a
certain date. Discussion ensued. Ms. Bartle explained the need to have legislation defining
membership approved after hearing input from the affected board/committee. After further
discussion, the following motions were made:
MOTION: Recommend that Taryn Montgomery become a non-voting liaison/participate in
the Environmental Stewardship Committee with the idea that she would be in charge of doing
or participating heavily in our outreach program.

Commissioner Norris agreed to follow up with the candidates.
