City Manager's Report
- - ____
September 6, 2000
Changes to Design at Bull Park; Upon the completion of the improvements at Bull Park it has
become apparent that some changes are needed in the placement of benches, signs and other
items. Changes to be made by staff will include the following;
- Wood bench near basketball court; will be relocated because the present location is to
close to the basketball playing surface and may cause for injuries to citizens and damages to the
bench. The bench will be moved to anew site in the grass and away from the basketball court.
- Benches under the shelter; had been facing back to back and will be moved out of the line
of travel and turned around so that they each face each other.
- Remaining Bull Park sign; the City staff earlier took down the two 4x6 signs because they
were too large and obstructed the view of the park. The remaining 4x4 sign will need to be
moved because of its location behind the. fence. The. new location. will. be just to the east of the
intersection of East Coast and 7t'' Streets.
- Handicapped Ramp; A handicapped ramp has been installed on 7`~ Street just to the west of
the intersection of 7`" and Ocean. However, the ramp from the sidewalk exits into the street in a
location where cars are likely to be parked. Staff intends to have a new ramp installed closer to
the intersection where it is more useable by the public and less likely to be obstructed by park
vehicles.
If the City Commission has any objections to any of these changes, please let us know during the
September 11``` meeting.
