Rufus 1,F)enning, ton, ill Cristinajoharinpeter PENNINGTON RESIDENCE 1733-34 Beach Avenue Tree Preservation /Mitigation Plan DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work herein consists of selective lot clearing for the development of a new single-family residence and a detached garage to be rebuilt on the footprint of an existing structure. The new structures and related paving, decking, and landscaping have been designed to capitalize on the previously developed portions of the lots and to preserve and highlight significant trees and natural features on site. A number of Cabbage Palms and two Bay trees prevent construction access to the beachside lot and development of driveway, understory garage, and landscaping; there are also clusters of Cabbage Palms within the building footprint. Two Cabbage Palms on the Garage lot prevent reorientation of the existing plan for a more pedestrian -friendly street frontage; additionally, two Live Oak trees near the street are dead. These trees are proposed for removal. All other significant trees on the site shall be protected. The proposed Site and Landscape Plans, attached herewith, indicate all trees to be removed or protected and incorporate new trees and plantings of native species to preserve the character of the site. This project is currently under review by the Department of Environmental Protection, with a projected review date of June 28, 2007.
