1285 Lily Street TREE07-00001283TREE CONSERVATION BOARD MEMORANDUM TO: TREE BOARD CHAIR MAUREEN SHAUGHNESSY, MEMBERS STEPHANIE CATANIA, JIM MCCUE, BREA PAUL, AND CAROLE VARNEY FROM: ERIKA HALL SUBJECT: SECTION H, BLOCK 213, LOTS 1-2-3 (LILY STREET) PERMIT SUMMARY DATE: 10/1/2007 CC: APPLICANT JOSEPH DURANTE MITIGATION REVIEW FOR TREE REMOVAL PERMIT APPROVAL At last night’s TB meeting, a motion was made to approve Mr. Durante’s request for tree removal and issue a permit stating the trees approved for removal and the mitigation requirements. Because we were coming up with different numbers from both the application and the worksheet that I had prepared, I reviewed both documents against the tree survey again. The discrepancies included the following: a) there were three 18" Pines listed on the original application in the interior zone but one was actually in the exterior (barely); b) there was one 7" Oak shown on survey to be removed from the interior that was not listed at all on application; and, c) I had several transcription errors because the 6's/8's and 16's/18’s were very light and difficult to read on the copies that I made, and I had left off a total of 4 trees from the entire worksheet. My table (attached) has been corrected and notes have been made on the application and on the permit. In summary, Mr. Durante is approved to remove the following. From the interior: 11-6" Oaks, 7-7" Oaks*, 5-8" Oaks, 1-9" Pine, 1-12" Pine, 1-13" Pine, 1-15" Pine, 1-16" Pine, and 2-18" Pines**, none of which are protected and none of which require mitigation. From the exterior: 5-6" Oaks (30"), 5-7" Oaks (35"), 4-8" Oaks (32"), 1-9" Oak (9"), and 1-18" Pine (18"), for a total of 124" to be mitigated by 62" of Oaks and/or Hardwoods. Mr. Durante has noted the following trees on his plan for protection: 1-10" Magnolia, 1-8" Palm, 1-14" Palm, 2-11" Oaks, and 2-12" Oaks, for a total of 90". These trees may serve as mitigation for the removed trees, or Mr. Durante may return within 6 months of issue of the tree removal permit with a landscape plan demonstrating 62" of new Oaks and/or Hardwoods to serve as mitigation. .
