1680 Jordan Street (Tree Letter) 05.15.2007
June 25, 2020
Ms. Cynthia Doctor Brock
1680 Jordan Street
Atlantic Beach, FL 32233
Dear Mrs. Brock:
The purpose of this correspondence is to outline the decision of the City Commission in regards to your
appeal of the Tree Conservation Board’s mitigation assessment.
It was previously determined that you were responsible for the removal of a total of 46” of Oaks from
the public right-of-way in front of your property, located at 1680 Jordan Street. However, upon hearing
your appeal and the circumstances of the tree removal, the Commissioners found that the original
mitigation placed a severe burden upon you. In an effort to alleviate that burden, the Commissioners
issued a new mitigation assessment, as follows:
You are instructed to replace four (4) 4” Oaks, for a total of 16”, to be planted over a period of
18 months. All trees must be planted by November 15, 2008, and all trees will be monitored to
ensure survival for 18 months beyond planting. Should you be unable to meet the new
mitigation requirements within the stated time period, the assessment will revert back to the
original amount of $5,382.00.
Members of the Tree Conservation Board and the Public Works Department will be happy to work with
you in determining the proper location to plant your new trees. Additionally, I am enclosing some
informational sheets on planting and care of trees. Please feel free to contact me at (904) 270-1605 if
you need further assistance.
Sincerely,
Erika Hall
