w I + AS, there may be times when a member of an Atlantic Beach public body, such
as the City Co ission, a board or a committee, may desire to participate in a public meeting by
telephone or other electronic means due to extraordinary circumstances; and
WHEREAS, it is permissible for such participation to occur under Florida law, provided
certainparameters and roc'dures are adhered to bythe member and public body; and

WHERE S, no policy has been adopted by the City Qommission to guide and govern
such participation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now desires to adopt a policy to address such
participation; and
WHEREAS, this policy shall only be applicable when a quorum of the subject public
body is physically present in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
NOW THEREFORE, + , be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby adopts the Telephone Attendance and
Participation Policy, as set forth and described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, which shall be applicable to and utilized by the City Commission and all other public
boards and committees o e City.
SECTION 2 he City Clerk is hereby directed to provide a copy of said Policy to every
member of each p •lic body of the City.
