Exh 6AAGENDA #6A DECEMBER 11, 2000 RESOLUTIOI~NO Up• 17~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FIARZDA, SUPPORTING LOCAL BH.L J-I, CURREdVTLY BEIrTG CONSIDE[t'ID BX THE DUVAL COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATxON, WffiCH WOULD ANNE3 THAT PORTION OF FLEET LANDING WHICH 15 CURRJENTLY OUTSIDE THE CITY LIlVII15 OF ATLANTIC BEACH INTO THE CIIA' OF ATLANTIC BEACH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEA2EAS, the Fleet Landing facility has certain newly acquired real property for expansion which is outside the city limits of AHantic Beach, although the majadty of Fleet landing is inside the city limits of Atlantic Beach, WHEREAAS, is in the best interests of L1te City of Atlantic Beach that the entire kleet landing facility be hxated within the city limits of AtLmtic Beach, and a bill is currently being considered by the Duval County Legislative Delegation to accomplish this, and WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach desires W support. Local Bill J-1, which is cuxrendy being considered by the Duval Cotutty Legislative Delegation to annex said real pmperty of Fleet landing into the City of Atlantic Beach. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the Clty of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach does hereby state its support foe Local Bill J-1, currenfly being considered by the Duval County I.~egistative Delegation for the 2001 State Legislative Session, which bill would annex inw the City of Atlantic Beach that portion of Fleet Landing which is cuzretttly outside the city limits of AtLzndc Beach. A copy of said Local Bill J 1 is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by referenoa incorporated herein. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall talar effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption.
