would greatly appreciate your consideration of DeJean Melancon of 675 Beach Avenue, for the
seat being vacated by Mike Levine on the Recreation Advisory Board. DeJean has been a
resident of Atlantic Beach for many years and recently has shown a great interest in getting
involved in the city. He has three young boys and recently sold his business so he is temporary
retired. I have discussed the importance of accepting a board position and giving the position
the time it requires and I feel confident that he will honor this. If you have any questions for

I enjoyed speaking with you recently about the vacancy on the Recreation Committee
with the resignation of Mike Levine. I am interested in becoming a member of the
committee and feel that I can make the personal commitment necessary to become an
active and constructive member. I deeply value the character and environment that
has been created for the residents of Atlantic Beach. As a father of three young boys
who are active in Atlantic Beach sports I recognize the need for youth sports facilities
and activities along with the varied needs of our community.
