Annual Lawn Maintenance Bids

BACKGROUND: The City staff advertised sealed bids for Annual Lawn
Maintenance Service at City Facilities on March 20, 1999. Sealed
bids were received on April 14, 1999, and staff reviewed the
information provided by the various businesses. .
After consideration of the bids that were submitted, staff
recommends that the City Commission reject all bids. In the bid
advertisement, the City reserves the right to reject any and all bids,
and that is the course of action recommended by staff.
Staff will prepare further recommendations to the City
Commission in the future relative to Lawn Maintenance.
RECOMMENDATION: We recommend that the City Commission reject all bids relative to
Bid No. 9899-19-RE-BID.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED IN BID PACKAGE AT BID OPENIND:
1. ORIGINAL Insurance Certificates (copies, Xeroxes, ,1nd facsimiles
are UNACCEPTABLE), naming the City of Atlantic Beach as Certificate
Holder, showing they have obtained and will continue to carry
Workers' Compensation, public and private liability, and property
domnge insurance during the life of the contract.
2. Three (3) references from companies or individuals for whom the
bidder has completed work during the past 12 months, of a comparable
size and nature as this project. However, naming the City of Atlantic
Beach us a reference on past cor",pleted projects is UNACCEPTABLE.
3. Proof of Occupational Licenses (copies ARE acceptable).
4. Bids submitted in TRIPLICATE (three (3) sets).

Bid prices shall remain valid for sixty (60) days after the public opening
of the bids, Goods and services proposed shall meet all requirements of
the Ur~linances of the City of Atlantic Beach.

or parts of bids, waive informalities and technicalities, make award
in saho].e or in part with or without Cause, and to snake the award in what
is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Atlantic Beach.
