Cloister of Atlantic Beach Destructive Testing - 9Dan,
Thank you for speaking with me yesterday. As we discussed, the destructive testing that done on Unit 65 of the Cloister of Atlantic Beach Condominium on July 22, 2020 resulted in the
double 2x4 sill plate at the west end of the kitchen beam being left in a structurally compromised condition. The party that conducted the testing has not responded to my request that
a repair be made to property restore the sill plate. As a result, we are working with a new contractor to conduct a repair. Pursuant to our conversation yesterday, we have retained
an engineer to prepare a drawing of the proposed repair.
As discussed yesterday, are we able to amend the existing permit for the repair? Also, is someone on your team able to quickly review the engineering drawings in order for the repair
to take place on Monday? Finally, who is the best person on your team for us to work with on expediting this matter?
I realize we are requesting this to happen quickly, however, as you may be aware, our Client, Mr. Cambell is very ill and has been displaced from his home, and will continue to be displaced
from his home until this work is completed. Furthermore, since this this is a structural issue, we want to effectuate a repair as quickly as possible.
