I am writing this email to renew this discussion and hopefully resolve some issues.
To the owners of Cloister Units 64, 65, and 66, (Building K) and the association management.
As I understand Florida Statute 471.027, Engineers are authorized to enter properties when necessary to make engineering surveys.
It is apparent to me that there is a structural deficiency somewhere in the structural support system under Unit 66 and I will support any legal request for an engineer(s) to enter the
three units and investigate. I believe that the deficiency is serious, on-going, and progressing.
I recommend that the owners of Units 64 and 65, and management engage a structural engineer to represent you and verify the findings of other engineers.
To the owners of Unit 66 and their representatives.
I understand that the owners of the other units are requesting that they receive a complete, un-edited original copy of all reports as soon as they are available, with no delays.
That sounds like a reasonable request and I encourage you to agree to that stipulation.
We will be in their homes for these investigations and we should offer all common courtesies to those homeowners.
To the engineers who will be doing the investigations.
The investigations will be non-destructive in nature and therefore somewhat limited, so we should be as thorough as possible to avoid unclear results or repeat visits.
I would like to see someone with a rotary laser level set up in each unit to accurately measure any sag in the individual floor-ceiling assemblies between the load-bearing common walls.
I will appreciate your cooperation in identifying the structural deficiency in this building and finding a correction.
