ITEM: Pension Board of Trustees -Fifth Board Member

DISCUSSION:
Section 2-266 of the City Code states that the board of trustees will consist of five (5) trustees
with "One (1) resident of the city to be selected by the other four (4) members of the board of
trustees, and whose appointment shall be confirmed by a vote of the city commission."
At the ]Vlay 11, 1999 board of trustee meeting, the board unanimously voted to select Barry Shaw
n as the fifth board member. Mr. Shaw is a resident of the City of Atlantic Beach and a Certified
Public Accountant with the firm of Shaw, Shaw & Shaw. He was also a prior board member and
has accepted this nomination, contingent upon approval by the City Commission.

REQUESTED ACTON:
That the City Commissions approve the selection of Barry Shaw to the Pension Board of Trustees
for a one year term per Sec 2-267 of the Atlantic Beach Code.
