NOVEMBER 3, 2020 AB GENERAL ELECTION Within or when adjacent to a residential zoning district, equipment such as portable generators, heating and air conditioning units, pumps, compressors, or other equipment that makes excessive noise may not be closer than 5 feet from any lot line. The installation of a generator on residential property requires two building permits: one for the electrical connections and one for the fuel gas tank and supply system. In addition to the installation details, a current survey is usually required for both permits to verify the locations of the generator and fuel tanks. Where installed in a flood zone or an area subject to flooding, the generator and connections must be installed above the design flood elevation (DFE) and the tanks must be above the DFE or anchored to resist flotation and movement. If you have questions or want more information, call 247-5814 or email info@coab.us. ABOUT STANDBY GENERATORS Already, three times during times of transition, Vic Gualillo had stepped up to serve as Atlantic Beach’s interim chief of police. Now, Gualillo’s gotten the call, again. Only this time, there’s no “interim” designation. Twenty-nine years after joining the Atlantic Beach Police Department as a patrol officer, Gualillo was confirmed Sept. 14 as chief of police. City Manager Shane Corbin’s recommendation to appoint Gualillo was unanimously approved by the City Commission. Congrats, CHIEF! No introduction needed ... Congrats, CHIEF Gualillo
