AGENDA ITEM: Uniform RentaUCleaning for Public Works Employees

BACKGROUND: Per the Northeast Florida Public Employees' Loca1630 agreement
with the City, we are required to furnish and clean uniforms for all
bargaining unit employees.
The City's current contract is with RUS Uniforms of Gainesville,
which expires on July 31, 1999. We have contacted Mr. Chris
Hodges, General Manager for RUS uniforms and he has agreed to
extend the contract for another year at the current prices. The City
has the option of extending the current contract for two (2) one (1)
year periods. This will be extension number one (1).
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one year at the current cost which is
estimated at $9,400.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter signed by Chris Hodges, General Manager of RUS agreeing
to the extension.

As you are aware, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for uniform rentals
expires on July 31, 1999. We would like to extend the contract for another year at the
current prices, if this is acceptable to your company. If acceptable, please sign below
and return to me before June 28, 1999, so I can prepare a staff report for the City
Commission to accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue our contract with your company.
