A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING THE SEMINOLE ROAD SIDEWALK EXTENSION WORK
TO JAX UTILITIES MANAGEMENT, INC.
WHEREAS, Bid 1920-01 for the Seminole Road Drainage Improvements is currently
underway and includes an 8' wide sidewalk on the west side of Seminole Road from David Street
north to Palm Ave.; and
WHEREAS, staff obtained a Change Order Quote from the contractor on this project,
Gruhn May, Inc., as well as from other contractors to extend the sidewalk approximately 600 LF
north to tie into the existing 8' sidewalk just south of the police building; and
WHEREAS, the quotes received, from lowest to highest, are as follows: Jax Utilities
Management,Inc. ($25,665.00),Elton Alan($46,401.92),Gruhn May, Inc. ($69,216.20),and J.D.
Hinson Construction Co. (unresponsive); and
WHEREAS,Jax Utilities Management, Inc. submitted the lowest quote, and staff intends
to piggyback off their contract with COJ (Contract #8258-22 "Concrete Maintenance and
Construction—West Area), for this sidewalk extension work; and
WHEREAS, adequate funding is available in account 470-0000-538-6300 under project
PU2001 Seminole Road Pipe Replacement.
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby allows staff to piggyback off Jax Utilities
Management's contract with COJ for Concrete Maintenance and Construction; and
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes a Purchase Order be issued to Jax
Utilities Management,Inc. in the amount of$25,665.00 for the Seminole Road sidewalk extension
work.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
