Dear Property Owner:
Please be advised, the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances includes rules and regulations governing
construction activities and also maintenance standards for property within the City. These standards are set forth
in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the
City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16.
A code enforcement inspection at 31 ROYAL PALMS DR was conducted on 10/2/2020. The City of Atlantic
Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of
Ordinances:
VIOLATION CODE: IPMC 504.3 Plumbing system hazards. Where it is found that a plumbing system in a
structure constitutes a hazard to the occupants or the structure by reason of inadequate service, inadequate
venting,cross connection,back siphonage, improper installation,deterioration or damage or for similar reasons,
the code official shall require the defects to be corrected to eliminate the hazard.
VIOLATION CODE: IPMC Sec. 506.1 General.All plumbing fixtures shall be properly connected to either a
public sewer system or to an approved private sewage disposal system.
VIOLATION CODE: IPMC 506.2 Maintenance.Plumbing stack,vent,waste and sewer line shall function
properly and be kept free from obstructions, leaks and defects
NATURE OF VIOLATION:There is a hole in the ground directly behind the sewer clean out which exposes
discharge water to the open air. It appears the discharge is coming from the laundromat. During our visit it was
observed that the hole is covered with a cooler lid.
This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by contract with a licensed plumber to repair
the plumbing so that no discharge is open within five(5)days of the receipt of this notice.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in
this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty
dollars ($250.00) per day. Upon completion of the action required, it is your responsibility to contact me and
