A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH AWARDING A $42,790
CONTRACT TO ADVANTAGE PLUMBING TO MAKE REPAIRS TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT DRAIN LINE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, recent plumbing issues have been encountered with the plumbing of the police building
including slow drains to sewage backups; and
WHEREAS, further investigation determined a sag in the drain line of the police building causing these
problems; and
WHEREAS, these issues create a health and safety issue for city employees in the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, appropriate plumbing contractors were contacted for review and bid to repair the drain line;
and
WHEREAS, bids were received to complete all necessary repairs, and the lowest bid was provided by
Advantage Plumbing for $42,790; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete this repair are available in the 2019-20 Police Department
budget(Account# 001-2001-521-46-00); and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes awarding a $42,790 contract to Advantage
Plumbing to make repairs to the Police Department drain line.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes funds to execute this contract to be appropriated
from Account #001-2001-52-46-00.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
