A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE TWO
POLICE FLEET VEHICLES DURING THE 2019-20 FISCAL YEAR
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the vehicles in its
fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine
service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase vehicles from one or more State of
Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other vendors;
and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that two Police SUVs should be
purchased during the 2019-20 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, a Police Four Wheel Drive SUV can be purchased for approximately
38,000; and
WHEREAS,the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the 2019-20
Police Department budget(Account# 001-2001-521-64-01).
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the
necessary contracts to effect the purchase of two Police Four Wheel Drive SUVs.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
