RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING STAFF
TO NEGOTIATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENT
FOR 0 LILY STREET; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach recognizes the vital importance of acquiring conservation
and recreation lands; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach has demonstrated a commitment to preserving and, in
certain cases, making improvements to the portions of the Intracoastal Waterway adjacent to the City by
acquiring Dutton Island Preserve, Riverbranch Preserve and Tideviews Preserve; and
WHEREAS, the property, located at 0 Lily Street directly adjacent to Riverbranch Preserve,
consists of approximately 2.1 acres; and
WHEREAS, this property's location on the marsh in Atlantic Beach would provide a passive
recreational amenity for the City in the future, would add protection to nearby properties from extreme
storm events, and would preserve critical marsh -front habitat in perpetuity.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
Section 1: The City Commission directs staff to negotiate the terms for the purchase and sale
agreement and associated financing documents for the conservation acquisition of the property located
at 0 Lily Street Atlantic Beach F132233. The final purchase and sale agreement and associated financing
documents shall be presented to the Commission for review and final approval prior to execution.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, this 12`h day
of October, 2020.
