Notice is hereby given to all property owners within 300 feet of the address below, and as shown in the map
below, that a Public Hearing regarding the case described in this notice will be held by the identified governing
body or bodies in Commission Chambers located at 800 Seminole Road on the provided date and time.

Request: The applicant is appealing the required mitigation for tree removal on city property. The
applicant is requesting that the required mitigation be reduced due to one of the removed trees
posing a potential safety hazard.
Summary: Two pine trees and one palm tree were removed in error from city property behind 715
Seminole Road in February, 2019. City staff estimated the combined diameter of these trees
to be 50 inches total. The City’s Tree Protection Ordinance requires one inch of mitigation
for every diameter inch removed on city property and requires mitigation to be doubled when
protected trees are removed without a permit. As such, the applicant is required to provide
100 inches of mitigation. The applicant is requesting the amount of mitigation required to be
reduced because one of the trees was considered dead and, therefore, posed a safety hazard.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, a person deciding to appeal any decision made by the Commission with respect to any matter considered at the meeting
or at any subsequent meeting to which the Commission has continued its deliberations is advised that such person will need to insure that a verbatim record of all
proceedings is made, which must include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
