A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING
BID NO. 2021-05 MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR ELECTRICAL
TROUBLESHOOTING, REPAIRS AND INSTALLATION; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AGREEMENTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS
AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City advertised Bid No. 2021-05 Multi -Year Contract for Electrical
Troubleshooting, Repairs and Installation, one bid was received, and the bid was opened on
November 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this agreement is primarily for electrical repairs or minor
improvements that cannot be performed by City forces; and
WHEREAS, the bidder, Limbaugh Electric, met all specification and document submittal
requirements; and
WHEREAS, Limbaugh Electric is the current City contractor for Electrical
Troubleshooting, Repairs and Installation, and has performed satisfactory electrical work,
including extensive work on our HVAC equipment, for many years; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding Bid 2021-05 to Limbaugh Electric; and
WHEREAS, the period of the agreement for Electrical Troubleshooting, Repairs and
Installation shall commence January 11, 2021, automatically renew annually (subject to the City's
funding availability), and expire five (5) years after the date of commencement, January 10, 2026;
and
WHEREAS, the Contractor may cancel the agreement at the end of the 3`d or 4th
anniversary year, without cause, upon six (6) months prior written notification to the City; and
WHEREAS, funds for Electrical Contractor Services are budgeted for Fiscal Year 2021 as
follows: $18,500 in the Parks Maintenance Account 001-6020-572-3400; $20,000 in Water
Production Account 400-5502-533-3400; $25,000 in Sewer Collection account 410-5506-535-
3400, and $25,000 in Sewer Treatment account 410-5508-535-3400.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes awarding Bid 2021-05 to
Limbaugh Electric.
SECTION 2. The term of the agreement shall be five (5) years, expiring on January 10,
2026; provided however, the City's obligations under the agreement shall be subject to annual
appropriations as may be approved as part of the City's annual budgets for fiscal years 2022, 2023,
2024, 2025 and 2026..
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement and such
purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this
Resolution.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
