A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING BID NO. 2021-06 MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR CHLORINE.
WHEREAS, the City advertised Bid No. 2021-06 Multi -Year Contract for Chlorine and
one bid was received and opened on November 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, this contract is to provide chlorine, a liquid chemical which is used at the
City's Water Plants and Wastewater Plant; and
WHEREAS, the bidder, Allied Universal Corporation, met all specification and document
submittal requirements at a price of $875.00 per 1 -Ton Container and $115.00 per 150 -Pound
Container, and
WHEREAS, Allied Universal Corporation is our current vendor and has been reliably
supplying the City with this chemical for the past 5 years under City Bid 1516-06; and
WHEREAS, the period of the contract for Chlorine shall commence January 11, 2021 and
expire five (5) years after the date of commencement, January 10, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor may cancel the contract at the end of the 3rd
or
4th
anniversary
year, without cause, upon six (6) months prior written notification to the City.
WHEREAS, funds for Chlorine are budgeted for Fiscal Year 2021 in the Water Production
account 400-5502-533-5200 and the Sewer Treatment account 410-5508-535-5200.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes awarding Bid 2021-06 to Allied
Universal Corporation, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract and purchase
orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The term of the contract shall be in effect for a period of five (5) calendar
years, expiring on January 10, 2026.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions contained herein, the City's obligations
under the contract shall be subject to annual appropriations as may be approved as part of the
City's annual budgets for fiscal years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
