382 7th Street Zoning Comments
The following are comments from the zoning department of the City of Atlantic Beach in regards to the
new home permit at 382 7th Street.
1. A tree removal permit is required. As part of the permit, a required 1-4” caliper tree must be
preserved or planted for every 2,500 square feet of property. One of those trees must be in the
required front yard (Section 23-30(1)). In addition, Old Atlantic Beach Design Standards require
the tree in the required front yard be a shade tree and that another tree located anywhere else
on the lot also be a shade tree (Section 24-172(4)).
2. The max height of a retaining wall is 4 feet. There also must be a minimum 40 feet between
retaining walls (Section 24-157(b)(3)).
3. Please verify the 4.6 measurement along the western side of the house. It appears to be part of
the B.S.L., in which case it should show 5 feet.
