Summary of Jordan Park activities:
• The children of Jordan Park Community Center attended a field trip to Mayport Middle
School's Girls basketball game.
• Jordan Park sponsored a pizza party with games and other activities for the areas youth.
• The children of Jordan Park attended a field trip to Mayport Middle School's library for a
reading workshop. They also attended another Girls Basketball game.
• The children attended a Football Game at Mayport Middle.
• Spoke with the children about safety procedures for Halloween. We also passed out
Trick or Treat bags filled with candy.
• The youth attended a fall festival at Donner Park from 1-5 pm. The children volunteered
to set up activities stands at the festival.
Summary of Donner Park activities:
• Donner Park was the host site for the Beaches Youth Explosion, a two-night event. A
committee was formed to make the event a bi-monthly event.
• 15 children in the homework program attended the Orlando Magic Intrasquad Basketball
game at the University of North Florida. The children met the Orlando Magic players and
basketball great Dr. J.
• In conjunction with Palms Presbyterian Church, Jax food banks and the Jacksonville
Children Commission, we are finally able to receive free snacks for the children on a daily
basis after school.
• Fall Festival- Donner Park was the host site for the Beaches Fall Festival. Most of the
volunteers for the Fall Festival were children of Donner Park. The festival was a success.
• Ma~port Middle and Fletcher High School were the host of rival football game on October
23` . We had two pizza parties and the children at Jordan Paris were in attendance as
well.
• The Cavity Fighters club is into its second month with the children. The children are in
competition with themselves to see who has the best smile and each child will receive
prizes from the dentists when the competition is completed.
Other Adele Grage and Parks & Recreation activities included:
• Prepared minutes and agenda for the Recreation Advisory Board.
• Overseeing the construction of Tide Views Preserve. The park is scheduled to open
November 12tH
• Monitored three grants: DCA for Jordan Park, FIND for construction of Tide Views
Preserve and designed of Dutton Island.
• Coordinated and implemented a Halloween Event and Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Tide
Views Preserve
• Other activities included daily meetings, web page updates, reports, telephone calls, park
inspections, etc.
