SUBMITTED BY: Susan Dunham, Beautification Coordinator DATE: November 16, 1999 BACKGROUND: The truck currently used by the City Gardener is a 1986 Chevrolet pickup truck that has been driven over 100,000 miles. Ryder has inspected the vehicle due to the smoking engine and has recommended that the vehicle be replaced. In addition, the body and bed of the vehicle are badly rusted and there are holes in the interior floor board. This vehicle is at the end of its economical usefulness. The Beautification Department has allocated $13,000 in the 1999/2000 budget for the purchase of a new truck. RECOMMENDATION: The Beautification Department recommends purchasing a replacement vehicle from Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Association of Counties, Bid Award Announcement No. 99-07-0913 as follows: 2000 Ford Ranger Specification No. 14 (compact pickup truck 4x2) $11,192 Add Options: Long Bed Model $ 492 Bed Liner $ 248 TOTAL $11,932 BUDGET: $13,000 budgeted, Account #001-5003-542.64-01 REVIEWED BY CITY MANAGER:
