Summary of Donner Park activities:
• Donated food and helped 28 families for the Thanksgiving holidays. Ten of the families received
food baskets that were prepared by Donner Park children.
• Attended Fletcher High School football game in Gainsville, Florida. During our visit in Gainsville,
the children participated in a taping of a live E.S.P.N. game show.
• Attended Fletcher High Schools' Homecoming Football game and parade. Donner Parks own
Omar Green, summer camp volunteer, was crowned Homecoming King in this year's
homecoming pageant.
New to Donner Park is Kids Cafe. Kids Cafe is a after school feeding program sponsored by
Luther Social Service and the Food Bank of Jacksonville. The Kids Cafe program will be coming
to Donner Park beginning January 2, 2000. Kids Cafe will provide paper products for eating and
all the food for the Center. On the first Friday of each month, the Kids Cafe staff will furnish
Donner Park children with a meal. Cake and Ice Cream will also be given to a child to celebrate
his/her birthday. The items needed for these parties will be readily available at the Community
Centers request.
Flag Football has begun at Donner Park. The league has played 4 games this month and is
scheduled to go through December 21~. The team has a total of 25 players, all from Donner C.C
Donner Park ended the month with its annual Women's' Group Thanksgiving Pot Luck. Local
area woman 55 and older brought food prepared by themselves and other goodies to open the
holiday season. The buffet consisted of smoked turkey, dressing and homemade pies and cakes
just to name a few.
Summary of Jordan Park activities:
• Flag Football season ended for Jordan and Donner Park. The season was ended with an awards
ceremony. The children of Jordan and Donner Park received trophies along with their perspective
championship awards.
• Jordan Park children along with Donner Park Center helped to prepare Thanksgiving baskets to
low income families.
• Jordan Park flag football also started this month. The Jordan Park team will play against other
local area community centers to see who is the "best at the beach° in athletics.

• Completed Bull Park Specifications, answered questions about Bull Park bid.

• Assisted First Night in their preparations.
• Tree Lighting preparations.
• Grant updates
• Other activities included, daily meetings, reports, phone calls, park inspections, etc.
