A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH AUTHORIZING
THE PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT FURNITURE FOR THE POLICE
COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
WHEREAS, the Police Department operates a Communications Center that serves as the
primary hub and answering point for emergency radio, phone, and 911 communications for the City
of Atlantic Beach 24 hours a day; and
WHEREAS, the existing furniture in the Police Communications Center has reached end of
life and has lost functionality due to equipment upgrades and expansion since the original furniture
was purchased in 2007; and
WHEREAS, replacement furniture can be purchased for approximately $53,600; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase these items from one or more State of
Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other vendors;
and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete this purchase are available in the FY2020-21
Police Department Budget.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the
necessary contracts to effect the purchase of replacement furniture for the Police Communications
Center.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
