Please explain any employment experience, board/committee experience, and/or community volunteer experience
relative to the board/committee applying for.
For over 25 years, I have served as the grants administrator for the River Branch
Foundation in Jacksonville Beach. he that position,I have become generally familiar not only with many
local arts, social services and environmental organizations, but also with the grant and review process
itself. Since one of the charges by resolution of CARAC is the task of spending the city's grant money in
this area carefiully and_wisely,i believe try experience court be he �us-CCboard
experience was as a member of the Charter Review committee in 2014.
As a lifelong lover of the arts, I$ave a broad general knowledge and-deep appreciation of the
visual and performance arts,as well as admiration for their ability to unite and uplift the viewers and
participants. It is my belief that CARAC can play an even more important role in creating and nurturing
community in Atlantic Beach through supporting the arts,art education, and recreational activities.

for wishing to be appointed to this board/committee.
At a recent Acoustic Night at Bull Park, I noticed how varied the audience was,and how much
they seemed to enjoy socializing with e2ch other and meeting new citizens,perhaps as much nr even more
than the performance roster itself! The success of Acoustic Night and Songwriter's Night,which both
uiiginated flour a citizen's idea mid lcqaaest to become what they ale today, is a great example of fostering
community spirit with city support.
My appreciation of our beautiful park and preserve system and a desire to see it made more
available to all citizens,and yet appropriately protected, are other aspects of my interest in CARAC. Our
parks and tree canopy are unparalleled on our small island,and make Atlantic Beach a true green haven.
It is our responsibility to be their stewards for future generations.
