Please explain any employment experience, board/committee experience, and/or community volunteer experience
relative to the board/committee applying for.
Currently I serve as a volunteer at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. Volunteer opportunities have included
conducting water quality sampling for the system wide monitoring program,as well as,staffing educational events for the public and private sector.
Volunteer experience with Beaches Vineyard in the areas of youth mentoring and tutoring,community event planning and execution
as well as international team leading.
Currently researching renewable tidal and wave energy systems,their economic and social impact on the local economy and environments.
Pursuing a Masters degree in Coastal and Ports Engineering to further understand ocean and estuarine interactions with the natural coasts and coastal structures.

As a long time resident of the local beach community, speficically over ten years in Atlantic Beach,a lover of the natural world,the
coastline, and the ocean, this opportunity to serve my city appears as a perfect fit. I have a passion for sustainability and
resilience and hope to help move our city closer to these paradigms since our geographical location lends itself to
being completely dependant on the surronding ecosystems. I would love to see the city be more proactive with
issues such as recycling incentives for business and residents, reducing use of'one time use' plastics, responsible
and long term beach nourishment, and sustainable building practices for the city.
