Fence Permit
Lenny-This is a problem, but it is one of those things that I have not
addressed in my time here. Hopefully my successor will be able to make
some headway in the simple permit process.

Good Morning Joe and Kevin,
I am trying to replace approximately 6 panels of wooden fence on the
southside of my property. I am just asking to replace an already
existing fence due to wear and tear. I experienced the same problem
this time that I experienced approx. a year and a half ago about the
City of Atlantic Beach Process for getting a permit to simply replace a
worn fence. I spoke to Kevin the first time, however, the same lengthy
process exists and nothing has changed.
I have contacted Neptune Beach which has a one day turn around for a
fence replacement permit and Jacksonville Beach would allow me to come
in today and get the permit at the counter, same day service. These were
the policies of these two other sister cities a year and a half ago and
COAB takes weeks! There has to be a better more efficient way to get
these thru, let’s just ask Neptune of Jax Beach how they do it! Our
permit was put in on the 24th according to my contractor and was told by
the city today that they have until Sept 10th to issue a permit.
Unbelievable!
I am not asking for any special favors as it was suggested a year and a
half ago when I complained about the length of time to do simple
permits!
I know you have much more important concerns with the potential
hurricane heading towards Florida, however, this is important to me!
