Construct framing using 4x4 PT posts and 2x6 PT lumber. Framing will be fastened together using 1/2 inch galvanized bolts with galvanized washers and nuts. All screws will be stainless steel including screws used to fasten the deck boards to frame of deck. In order to support the deck boards over the concrete sidewalk, PT 2x4 lumber will be ripped down to the appropriate size and anchored into the concrete sidewalk thus completing joists every 16 inches on center, running parallel to 2x6 joists on either side of walkway. All joists will be taped with Deck Wise tape to prolong life of framing. In order to get the deck to the proper height, soil where framing lies must be excavated and then filled with gravel to control moisture and soil contact to framing of deck. Once framing has been installed deck boards will be put in place. 2) PERGOLA: Build Pergola approximately 8'x24' following footprint of deck. Pergola will be built using four 4x4 PT posts on either side of deck spaced 8' apart and place 1.5' in the ground. The posts will then be wrapped with 2x6 PT lumber completing the frame of pergola. All pergola framing will be fastened with two 3/8 in. galv. bolts at each post with washers and nuts. The rafters (2x6)will be placed on top of framing spaced 16 in. apart with Purlins (2x2s) running perpendicular on top, with the same spacing.
