A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE ENGINEERING SERVICES TO UPGRADE WATER
TREATMENT PLANT NO. 1.
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2021, staff received a proposal from J. Collins Engineering
Associates, LLC, in the amount of $148,000.00 to provide professional engineering services for the
upgrades to Water Treatment Plant No. 1; and
WHEREAS, an engineering study and proposal by J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC,
provided the City with recommendations for modernization of Water Treatment Plant No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the tasks included in the proposal include permitting, design, bidding assistance
and performance of construction administration; and
WHEREAS, the City has a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with J. Collins
Engineering Associates, LLC, and this scope of work would be Task Authorization No. III, Part 2
under said agreement; and
WHEREAS, funds for this design are budgeted in the infrastructure account 400-5502-533-
63-00 under project number PU2020.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute Task
Authorization No. III, Part 2 with J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC, in the amount of
$148,000.00 for Engineering Services related to upgrading Water Treatment Plant No. 1 as described
in J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC, proposal dated April 28, 2021, and;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
Purchase Order to J. Collins Engineering Associates, LLC, in the amount of $148,000.00 for said
Task Authorization No. III, Part 2.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
