Adjournment w • • C7 CULTURAL ARTS ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES OF MAY 20, 1998 The Cultural Arts Advisory Board held a regular meeting Wednesday, May 20, 1998 in the Commission Chambers. Present were: Nancy DeCandis, Rosemary Fletcher, Alice Gartland, Woody Winfree, Karin Clark and Nancy Bodge. The meeting was called to order at 6:45PM by Alice Gartland Woody reported that Cindy is prepared to take the budget to the Commission. Woody made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Nancy seconded and motion carried. Alice reported that the Spring Arts Festival was a success. Nancy DeCandis reported that Kristin Brodt will teach Art Classes again and the classed will include drawing, painting and pottery, but not a wheel. The classes will be held at Adele Grage Community Center for ages eight and up. The dates have not been set, but we know classes will begin in late July. It was reported the fall Concert in the Park was too close to First Night Event. Instead Alice suggest having the fundraiser on the boat. Karin report the First Night Group has asked several group to perform, Ace Winn and Made in Heaven, and they are looking for a third. The hours are 7 to 11 with an hour at the dock, two hours out on the river and one hour back at the dock. The cost is $25.00 per person. Karin will take over heading up the Concert in the Park. The Event will be held September 28, 1998 in Russell Park. Karin will send letters to Mayport Middle School and the Navy Band of Jacksonville. At the next meeting the Board will elect Officers (Vice -Chairperson). Karen will discuss the possibility of having a rain date for the Concert in the park. Nancy reported that the Cultural Arts Board has $4,400.00 remaining in the budget. Ajourn: 7:25
